As far as the content goes - can I just say !!!! It just astounds me that people will actually let things like this spew forth out of their mouths and that people actually buy into it!!! It just makes me so sad that such utter racism exits in supposedly well-educated people who should know better.

Missy, I think you're completely normal. I think we all go through times like this. Venting, even when it seems there is no purpose, really does give a tremendous release. Over the years some of the times I've felt the best were when I needed to get something off my chest and I wrote something about it. I don't even really know how to put it into words, I'm sure you understand anyway though, it just feels better to say it doesn't it. Even if it doesn't make a difference in the reality of the situation.

I want to say one other thing - there have been times other than this post where you've mentioned wanting to write about something but you hold back. I would highly encourage you to write about anything and everything that you think you want to write about. Remember, this is your blog. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. It doesn't matter if the majority agrees with you or disagrees with you. What matters is that you're sharing what's on your mind and what's in your heart. I think I can probably speak for most of us who regularly read your blog when I say that's why we love you. :) You have great ideas, great thoughts, interesting topics, and posts that make us all think. It's why I keep coming back - that and the fact that you're just so darn funny! ;)

Anyway, all that to say - there's nothing wrong with you, you're completely normal, we all feel this way at one time or another, and most of all - we want to hear what you have to say. Love ya, Missy!! :)

Missy, first I would like to say that you shouldn't ever feel like you need to apologize for posting things that concern you - it's your blog and you can do whatever you want with it! :)

With that said, just like the others, I didn't follow the link because what you've written is enough for me to know it's disturbing and outrageous. It's no wonder, with things going on like this, that over 80% (at least I think that's the current statistic) of kids who are Christians walk away from their faith by the end of their freshman year in college. With all of this garbage they're being fed in public school and college why would we even be surprised?

This just helps me to know WITHOUT A DOUBT that homeschooling all the way through high school, as we're doing, is the right thing to do.

Thanks for keeping us informed, Missy!!

I'm glad it turned out okay and you had the strength to make it through it all okay. God is good isn't He. :)

I hope you have a wonderful birthday tomorrow (actually it's today your time!).

I ditto Kiva's answer - if you let them cool for just a couple of minutes they shouldn't stick. You don't have to let them cool completely though - you can still enjoy them warm, just not super hot! :) They also have the new silicone pans that you can buy now that they pop right out of. I have one and it works great. You do spray it first but then everything comes out perfectly. :)

On to the post though - about the movies, I haven't seen most but I have seen all the Pirates movies and those are good! The third wasn't AS good but Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom are awesome in them all! And Orlando Bloom isn't bad to look at either. ;)

I am with you on the blankets and fan too! We have a fan by the bed that we use every night. We have a ceiling fan too but it makes a very light clicking sound that drives my husband absolutely batty so he won't allow us to turn that one on. I take the down comforter off in the summer but the quilt stays on. :)

"He speaks to us all so very differently sometimes. He has different assignments for us all. We are all at different places in our walk with Him. There are so many different reasons why we may feel so strongly about an issue and its up to us to follow God’s prompting as to what to do about said issue." Missy, that was perfectly said!!!

n8swife, I agree with Toni that there isn't really a difference. Besides the example of the Pharisees, what about when Jesus went into the temple and overturned tables and drove out all the people buying and selling there? And if we look in the Old Testament we see where God wipes out entire cities and groups of people because of their sin. Somebody earlier gave the example of Sodom and Gomorrah. These all show that while there is a time to love and pray there is also a time to call out sin. There is a time to stand up and say "this is wrong." God calls us to action - not just prayer. We can't expect the world to become a better place unless we DO something to make that happen. Of course, it has to be God's will and we have to do what God wants us to do - not just what we see fit to do. But we still have to do something. I hope that makes sense. :)

Wow! This post got some comments going!! I would imagine that my first comment might have been one that was referred to earlier in regards to the venom thing as it probably came across pretty badly. Just like Missy said earlier, the written word cannot convey facial expressions and sarcasm so things can get taken the wrong way. I will say though, that while I would never wish any kind of attack on a city or people group, I do think it would be interesting to see what kind of reaction they would have if that ever did happen and they didn't have our military to back them up. If people like this were in some sort of situation that required military intervention I'm sure they'd be really quick to let those marines back into their town with no problem. This country is what it is today because of our military (and on a personal level my husband has served in the military) so I am disgusted with people like this who treat our soldiers, who willingly give their lives to protect the very rights that these people exercise by behaving this way, with such disrespect.

And since several comments have been made about Scripture and how Jesus treated people - do you remember the way He treated the Pharisees? Do you remember the way He talked to them? He called them out - big time. He called them a brood of vipers! He told them all kinds of things that they were doing wrong. He didn't speak nicety nice to them. So, yes, we should show these people the love of Christ but Jesus never said to sit idly by and take things that are blatantly wrong. Like I said, He called them out - shouldn't we do the same? Heather, I couldn't agree with you more!!

You know after reading more of the comments here it got me to thinking about a project left unfinished in our house too. We painted our living room about a year or so ago and the whole room has trim around it in the middle of the wall - kind of like a chair rail. Well, the people who owned this house before us are the ones that put it up and not only did they do a horrible job but they stopped about two feet short of reaching the spot where it should have stopped on one wall of the living room. (Technically it's where the living room ends and the hallway begins but you can still see it from the living room and two feet further there is a closet door so it would have made more sense to take the trim all the way to the door. I know that's really hard to understand without actually seeing it so bare with me.) Anyway, when we painted we painted the bottom of the wall one color and the top of the wall a different color. Well, where the trim should be we just painted up to the spot where the trim would go for each color. We bought the new piece of trim and brought it in to put it up and it didn't match what was there. UGH! So then we go buy a new piece to replace it because the dumb people before us have two different kinds up and we hadn't noticed it until doing this. So, anyway, we buy this new piece to fix it and guess where it is... in the garage. Yep! It's been there since last year while we look at an unfinished wall every day.

Sorry for the long comment but I just had to share my husband's "lack of finishing jobs" story. haha!

I'm kind of jumping in this late in the game but, Missy, I agree with what you're saying. I don't think the school had any reason to kick these girls out if they weren't actually doing anything wrong. Kicking them out because they might do something wrong is preposterous! Also, just as has been stated already, if they are going to kick someone out of school for committing a sin then they'd have to kick every single person out (including the principal or board member that made this decision!) because not one of us is free from sin.

I think the better option would have been to give them some Christian counseling - WITH the consent of the parents! Helping them through these struggles rather than throwing them out and saying you aren't worthy to be here would have been the more Christian thing to do.

Also we need to remember that homosexuality is a sin and should be dealt with - in a believer. That's the key I think. If it's not a requirement for every child to be a believer to attend this school then they can't expect every child to be striving to live a life that is holy and pleasing to the Lord. Unbelievers don't do that nor should we expect them to. It's hard enough for those of us who ARE believers to live in a way that's pleasing to the Lord so how is someone who has not asked the Holy Spirit to come into their heart going to be able to discern what's good behavior and what's sinful behavior?

If it IS a requirement that they all be believers then again I think counseling to help these girls see how the Lord looks so unfavorably on this sin in their life would have been a better option.

That's my 2 cents. Or maybe 50 cents since the comment is so long!

By the way, thanks for the link! ;)

I think the color depends on your taste. Bright white can be, well, bright! :) Creamy white is a little softer on the eye I think. Like I said though, it's all a matter of taste. It also depends on what your color scheme is around your house. Will white or creamy white match better?

Same with the type of paint. Personally I like satin. It's close to the look of flat but it's cleanable. Flat paint can't really be cleaned. If you like shiny, glossy paint though you'd want to go with something more like semi-gloss.

I don't think that's really much help is it. ;) I really don't think there is a right or a wrong. Just do what you like best!! :)

Well, we're off to Lowe's to get some home improvement stuff ourselves. Talk to you later~

Oh, Missy!!! I sure wish you'd consider moving here. I really think we could be the best of friends in real life. ;) We think so much alike sometimes it startles me. I don't know if you're getting really tired of hearing that but in honor of your post I've got to say it anyway! I have felt the exact same way about so many of the things you wrote. The friend thing, the writing thing, the sharing thing - all of it!! If you look at my calendar on my blog you'll find a lot of empty days within the last few months. Those are days that I thought very much like what you're saying here. You don't know how many times I've thought to myself that I should just quit - that, for me, blogging is stupid and I should quit wasting my time. But then I really connect with someone (like you  ) or think of something to say (finally!) and I start again. Honestly, I've been feeling lately like I'm two different people trapped in one body. There are days that I just don't want to deal with anything - especially my blog or even reading anyone else's blog! But then other days I love it and I love life. I don't know what's going on with me but, like you, I've decided to stick with it and see where it goes. There are a lot of blogs that I enjoy reading but (and I mean this - I'm not just patronizing you!!) yours is the one on which I always hope to find something each day. You always either really brighten my day or really make me think. I love both of these things. Keep writing, keep sharing, keep being you, keep being honest. You can't go wrong if you do!

Wow! We have several things off this list in common! Since others have joined in here I'll do the same. :) I don't like the mall either! The reruns I've gotten hooked on lately are Reba reruns. I had never seen that show until a month or two ago - it's hysterical!!! I rarely wear lipstick and if I'm staying home (and sometimes even if I'm going out) I don't wear any makeup. (My skin still thinks I'm a teenager though so I wear it for cover up purposes mostly. UGH!) Most of the time my clothes will get removed from the dryer but sometimes if I do towels and underwear last I don't worry about pulling it out and folding right away. When that happens it's been known to sit there for several days - until someone runs out of clean underwear. :) And last but not least, I also have some hearing loss in one ear I think. I've never really had my hearing tested but there are times that if one ear is covered (like when I'm lying down) I can't hear very well but if I turn my head over I can hear much better.

I'm glad your grandma is doing better! That's kinda scary! I've been in cleaning mode this last week too! I didn't finish it, but I worked on my laundry room today, too! I've done about half of what I want to do around the house and I'm anxious to get the rest done. It feels so good to get things really clean sometimes. :) We celebrate our doggies' birthdays too. I don't think it's weird! They're part of the family!

Have fun with your first Thanksgiving as the chef! I hope everything goes well and that you have a wonderful day! :)

n8swife, I agree! That "tried & true" are the ones I think are good and people should keep doing. I don't agree with forcing people to do the new ones either. In fact, when my kids were little was when they first started making the chicken pox vaccine mandatory and that really bothered me. That's a disease that is so dangerous as an adult but usually not at all as a child. I couldn't believe that they would make something mandatory without knowing what the long term effects were! I would have much rather had them get the disease like everybody did when I was a kid and then have it behind them so they didn't have to worry about it. Now, we have to wonder if they will always be protected or if they could get it later!

I won't even get started on the HPV vaccine. I'm rather appalled that they are targeting young girls with that! I think it's a sad, sad time in our country when it's considered normal to vaccinate young girls against a sexually transmitted disease.

This is a tough one for me. While I completely agree that it shouldn't be criminal to not get your children immunized it also seems like a bad idea. I would sure hate to see some of these diseases come back after we were able to eliminate them. I think Dana made a good point though, one that I never thought about before - if only some aren't getting immunized then they are the only ones that would be affected by it. If that is the case then the rest of us who have been immunized don't need to worry about what they do. Right? Good post, Missy!

Working hard and making a good living for yourself is great but this kind of thing is just shameful.
